I've always been perplexed by the "one style fits all" theory of clinician medical apparel. It simply didn’t make sense to me. Attorneys and businessmen/women don three piece suits in upwards of $2000 each. And surgeons, after 12+ years of post-graduate education, are stuck in flimsy scrubs and droopy, box-like lab coats?
The idea for Medelita was born out of necessity. A true need in the healthcare industry existed for superb quality, prestigious appearing lab coats and scrubs, ergonomically designed specific to physicians and surgeons. Three years in development - mastering international sourcing, apparel manufacturing, design and pattern making, technical performance fabrics, web site development - before it all started to take shape. I knew exactly what I felt was important in a medical uniform - and was determined to get the fit, drape, and functionality perfect.
