First – please take a look at our size chart. If you are between sizes, we suggest ordering the larger clog size, since professional clogs are traditionally worn with a medium weight sport sock.
Sanita clogs fit differently than traditional shoes. They should feel roomy and not constrained. There should be a 1/4 inch (pinky finger width) gap between the heel of your foot and the back of the clog. Your heel should lift in the back of the shoe as you walk.
Sanita guarantees their clogs from manufacturer defects within a reasonable amount of time. Normal wear and tear is not a manufacturer defect. If you find your clogs to have a manufacturer's defect, please contact Medelita for assistance at 877.987.7979.
Aside from their exceptional quality, craftsmanship, materials, and impressive 100 year history in business, we found their product offering to be the perfect mix of traditional finishes and attractive prints – different than anything else available. The fabrication/material offering of Sanita is second to none. Since the typical Medelita customer is looking to wear the perfect blend of quality, sophistication, and “modern professionalism” that still fits within an accepted norm - a unique clog print or material is the perfect addition to a uniform worn over 2,000 hours per year. Sanita clogs simply add to the excitement of the daily grind.
For many years Sanita manufactured clogs for Dansko. The Sanita and Dansko relationship ended in the fall of 2007. Since then, all Sanita manufactured products sold in the US have been sold exclusively under the Sanita brand.
In a nutshell – yes. Some wearers comment that a Sanita clog fit slightly wider than a Dansko clog. Part of our decision in choosing to partner with Sanita, was the consistency of their production – we don’t have to worry about inconsistencies in width or arch height for our Medelita customers. Sanita professional clogs are made in the same location, using the same molds, with exacting standards of materials and quality control, resulting in a consistently high quality product – and have been for over 100 years.
In our humble opinion – they are better. And this is coming from someone (our Founder) who has worn medical clogs for over 10 years professionally. She feels that it is imperative that everything offered by Medelita – scrubs, lab coats, and medical clogs - are the absolute best available products to those clinicians wearing such uniforms over 2,000 hours per year. Sanita matched our high standards for quality control, consistency of sourcing materials, and ensuring a reputation amongst customers (colleagues, in our case) that is second to none.
The upper portion of the leather is folded back inside the shoe, mainly around the arch of the foot, and then stitched down to ensure a smooth, comfortable finish and appearance. Thus, leather or material that is custom dyed typically rubs into the socks during the first and second wear. Simply use Oxy Clean® or another similar laundry treatment to remove temporary staining of your socks.
Unfortunately, no. Sanita manufactures a limited number of seasonal prints and finishes for their Fall and Spring listings. Once those are sold out – they do not produce additional clogs of that exact type. Big sellers for one season are often translated into something similar (but not exact) for the next season. We do our best to ensure stock of items we know our Medelita customers will prefer – but some styles and prints do sell out more quickly than predicted.
Sanita clogs are the Original and are stamped with the Sanita logo on the sole. If there isn’t a Sanita logo on the sole of the clogs, they were not manufactured by Sanita. All Sanita clogs are manufactured in Europe under the strictest of quality standards.
Sanita Clogs, Inc. is proud of its heritage as the Original Danish Clog Company. They have been manufacturing their products since 1907 – that’s over 100 years in business. They are still all handcrafted in Europe, specifically in Denmark and Poland.
