Name: Brian Bassiri- Tehrani, MD
School/Program: The University of Illinois at Chicago
Why did you choose your profession?:
I was initially drawn to the field of surgery because of the decisive measures it takes to fix a problem. I reveled in the understanding of the pathophysiology of the human body and the ability to utilize that knowledge to tangibly treat problems through surgery. Plastic surgery epitomizes this and incorporates creativity and ingenuity.
Current Passion Project:
Yes! I am the co-host of a brand new podcast called "The Loupe" @theloupepodcast. It can be streamed on all major podcast platforms, and, youtube. This is a Plastic Surgery podcast where residents review topics in plastic surgery and help residents prepare for the yearly inservice exam. We will also discuss recent journal articles and have renown plastic surgeons and faculty on the podcast to talk in depth about their specialty and cutting edge technologies and techniques.
