Brittney Culp, MD

Name: Brittney Culp, MD

Title: Trauma Surgeon

Location: Grapevine, TX

School/Program: Texas Tech Univ. HSC School of Medicine

Currently Wearing: The Vandi Athletic Fit Lab Coat

Why did you choose your profession?:
I like results. I am impatient and I love that surgery allows me to make people better as quickly as possible. I actually do trauma surgery and the best part about it is trying to make someone's very bad day into something not so bad.

Current Passion Project:
Physician Burnout and Physician Depression are major concerns of mine

Who was/is your inspiration?
Honestly, I don't have any specific person. The person that inspired the surgeon in me was Dr. Dennis Dove (my clerkship director when I was on my surgery rotation in medical school).

Fun Fact 1:
I love football more than my husband does.

Fun Fact 2:
If I didn't do medicine, I would do interior design.

Do you have any advice for others interested in entering your field?
Don't let anyone tell you "no". You can do this. Anyone can. Set your priorities and boundaries early, and stick with them.
