Why did you choose your profession?:
Care for critically ill patients is my passion.
Current Passion Project:
Women in Cardiology and Electrophysiology! Only 12% of Cardiologist are women and if these only 6% are Cardiac Electrophysiologist like myself . I practice in Texas and this entire state I am 1 of only 8 female EP’s . We need more young women to choose Careers in Cardiology!
Who was/is your inspiration?
I have never had a female Mentor. I am trying to pay it back by being a virtual mentor to young women in Cardiology so that they do not experience the gender bias that I have gone through!

I’m a Mom to two grown sons who share my passion for science and Medicine.
Do you have any advice for others interested in entering your field?
Yes ! Read my IG 1. It is possible for a woman to choose a male dominated specialty and still have a successful married life and family ! 2. Radiation exposure during procedures is manageable and will not affect your ability to have kids 3. Saving lives is a privilege and honor . I have been doing this for 27 years and love it now as much as I did when I graduated from Med School in 1992!
