Stephen Benton, PA-C, was born in England, raised in Colorado, and attended PA school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He began pursuing medicine as a career after completing his degree in performing arts and music, as he realized how much he craved having a more direct impact on the well being of his community. In his free time, Stephen enjoys spending time outdoors in the calm and peace of nature, where he can watch wildlife, breathe fresh air, and feel connected to the beauty of the world around us.
In his own words,
"My favorite thing about working in healthcare is making real, meaningful, and positive impact on the lives of people who suffer from illness, disease, or unfortunate situations. The biggest challenge I've faced in my career in medicine is the immense sacrifice that has been required to do a complete 180 from the music and theatre world to a hard science and medical environment. Can you say night and day?
Professionalism is the defining characteristic of brand and reputation, be it for a company, individual, or the like. I've found that all the talent or knowledge in the world can't make up for a lack of professionalism. Thus, in my life I've strived to always maintain a professional style and demeanor for the benefit of my patients, colleagues, and myself."
