Title: Cardiologist

Location: Mineola, NY

School/Program: Ross University School of Medicine

Currently Wearing: The Osler Slim Fit Lab Coat

Why did you choose your profession?:
I absolutely love the process of learning, exploring, and especially, sharing my knowledge with others. I have found interventional cardiology to be the most beautiful blend of experience and knowledge mixed in with new cutting- edge technology and information. The virtual instant results and patient reaction, from utter fear to complete relief is absolutely addicting.

Current Passion Project:
I'm working on a public outreach program called Restart-Reset with a college friend of mine (Jason Tartick) who was recently on ABCs "The Bachelorette" targeted at public health and awareness to basic ways to live a healthier life.

Who was/is your inspiration?
My parents have been constantly supportive of everything I've ever dreamed of. They have always preached to make them proud of who I am and not what I do.

Fun Fact 1:
I went to medical school in the Caribbean.

Fun Fact 2:
I was a college hockey player, and still play today.

Do you have any advice for others interested in entering your field?
Be passionate about whatever field you choose to pursue. The amount of work and dedication required to be great in medicine can only come with a true love for your work. You need to choose a life that will make you happy, and not one to make somebody else happy. There will be long nights and tired hours, when nobody else will see the sacrifices you're making. A love for helping people and pride for your work will make it all worth it.
