Title: Physician
Location: GA
School/Program: Meharry Medical College, Class of 2014

Why did you choose your profession?:
I like that I have the honor of taking care of women from all ages, backgrounds, and stages of their life. I also love being in the operating room and the artistic aspect of surgery.
Current Passion Project:
I am a Mindset Coach and Motivational Speaker. I show women how to reframe and clarify their thinking so that they can optimize their goals and visions. My background of navigating the long and rigorous path to becoming a physician, experience as a young widow, and a passion to see women win has motivated me to be transparent about my journey and encourage people to live an intentional life now!
I am also deeply committed to the promotion of diversity in medicine. I am the founder of The Mentorship Squad (TMS), a network of Black and Latinx women physician mentors helping Black and Latinx women achieve their goal of becoming U.S. physicians.
Who was/is your inspiration?
My parents are my inspiration. They have been a constant source of encouragement on my journey to becoming a physician.
Fun Fact 1:
I love to sing and dance. My favorite type of music is Afrobeats.
Fun Fact 2:
I also really enjoy decluttering and organizing my home. There’s a peaceful feeling I get when my space is minimal and fresh.
